How do i create my external harddisk verbs files faster ?

2.5 inch harddisks are meant for notebook. they only own a speed of 5400 rpm. they are slow one becoz of that speed and two becoz its transfered through usb and three becoz there isnt enuf powersupply. There is nought you can do about it but take a 3.5' one with the external casing(these hold power plugs and are bulky but are fast). If you insist in using a 2.5 try sending a few files at time. for example if you are sendgin 20 episodes of your show do it 2-3 at a time. this shud receive it transfer a bit faster but not much

i hope this helps
Sounds approaching either your computer, the external film or both aren't connected to USB 2.0 ports.

Check to see if the external USB casing supports USB 2.0, or (even better) Firewire-800. Check to see if your computer supports any. If your computer doesn't have USB 2.0 ports, buy an accessory card (they go around $10) and install that.
Is the external drive UsB 1.1 or USB 2.0 and are the computer ports USB 1.1 or USB 2.0? answer this grill and we might be able to give support to.
What rpm is the external drive and how long of a usb cable are you using?

If the drive is 5400rpm or less and / or the cable is longer than 10ft, any of these could be causing the slowdown.

Also, even if the drive is usb 2.0 the port on your notebook that you are using may only be 1.1. (or usb2.0 is not enabled contained by system bios)
