How do i know which processor is contained by my desktop near window xp?

Right-click 'My Computer' and move about to 'Properties'. On the General tab, under 'Computer:' it will communicate you your processor and speed along with RAM information.
if you really want to geek out use SIW. it will show you everything you looked-for to know about your computer and consequently some!
For the simplified processor information right click on My Computer and select Properties.

This will open the System Properties to the General Tab. At the bottom of the General tab, lower than the Computer section it will chronicle your processor.

Note that My Computer will either be on your desktop, or lower than your Start Menu, depending on how you've set up your system.

If you'd like more specific information nearly the processor (model, etc.), you can retrieve that from the System Information application.

You can find that in Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System Information.

Another approach to access the System Information application is Start --> Run. Then type msinfo32 without the quotes and click OK.

I hope that help,
