How do I procure my computer to boot up faster after turning it on?

How do I procure my computer to boot up faster after turning it on?

Strip down the stuff that loads up when it boots. The more applications that run at boot up slow it adjectives down.

Go get a program call Hijackthis, it's the tool to use to help find a virus/malware etc.. on your computer, but it will also explain to you all the processes that run at boot time.

Also, your registry get bloated over time. Search out one of the registry cleaner applications to strip all the crap out of that. During boot time window reads the registry. Over time your registry get messed up with pointers to nowhere etc.. Takes window awhile to move past the fruitless entries in the registry.
Limiting the numer of startup programs and processes using msconfig is the easiest track. More ram and increasing virtual hit may help also.

If msconfig, etc does not speed it up you can obtain a faster hard drive approaching the 10,000rpm Raptor.

Usually my XP pc go through 2 passes of the nouns bar on the XP start screen
