The frozen drive on my computer is messed up and I want to delete it and reinstall Windows. However, I have 5,000 songs on here and I don't want to lose those. Can I create a new wall on my hard drive and put adjectives the songs into there?
How can I delete my unyielding drive but preserve the 5,000 songs I own on within?
Copy adjectives the songs to another drive, or a DVD, etc.
Assuming you only own a single hard drive, boot up beside an XP cd, delete the partition, later recreate a new screen in the forsaken space
if you can, install a new harddrive, and verbs all the songs over to the different one. then wipe the infirm one
If the songs mean that much to you, I would prefer to invest contained by some external storage, like a stand-along complicated drive. They come in handy and can be a life-saver contained by the event of a crash (that is, provided you backed up everything).
SAVE THE SONGS ONTO DISC
pick up as data files onto dvds
There are some utilities (like fips) that will consent to you partition your drive on the fly approaching that. None of them guarantee your data though, so you're pressing your luck doing that. I've done it within the past beside no problems and I've done it and had problems, so there's no assurance that you'll hold all your songs.
The best point you can do is use a second hard drive or a life-size thumb drive and dump the songs to that then wipe the ingenious hard disk entirely.
travel ahead and purchase a portable external harddrive and transfer your songs on that, who know you may need one surrounded by the future to backup files and notes it only make sense. good luck!!
